Like a bunch of car and mac ads before it, commercial songs have done a good job plucking delightful tunes from overlooked album’s.

The most recent song I had to purchase is from a silly Heineken spot, the song is called It’s Love, from Chris Knox. Enjoy!

Reported on Gawker, CNN is polling for a story around if people have bartered services for sex. Such as ‘assembling Ikea shelves’

People have done this? I can’t believe how much sex I am currently owed! Thank goodness for all those allen wrenches!

From the poll question:

“Have you ever used casual sex (outside a committed or dating relationship) to get someone to assemble that Ikea shelving unit you just bought, help you move, do your taxes, edit your masters thesis, cut you a deal on the rent, or any other favor? Or have you seduced the UPS delivery guy/gal, contractor renovating your kitchen, or any other laborer working in your home (and perhaps even got a discount on the work they were doing in the process)? If so, I want to hear from you: did your bartering tactic work, how did you feel after the fact, and have you used sex as a bartering tool again?

I also want to hear from those who’ve had sex offered to them in exchange for a favor (even if you weren’t asked to do the favor until after the fact) or contractors, landscapers, and the like who’ve been hit on while doing a job in someones home. What was the outcome? Did you go for it? Did you do the favor or cut them a price break after the fact? Did this lead to any later headaches or did everyone come away with what they wanted?

Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay is the 2008 comedy film sequel to the hit stoner comedy from 2004, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle.

Whether you saw the movie in theaters or not, you’ll want to own the unrated version on DVD to watch over and over again with a different set of buddies each time.

The movie starts right where the first one ended – with Harold and Kumar making a trip to Amsterdam to find Harold’s future girlfriend. Unfortunately, Kumar’s weird looking pipe is mistaken for a pipe bomb resulting in disaster. Suspected of terrorism, they must attempt to escape incarceration at the infamous Guantanamo Bay. They run from the law hoping to prove their innocence, while encountering hilarious yet dangerous scenarios including scary inmates, a bottomless party, the Ku Klux Klan, an inbred Cyclops and many more.

And don’t worry, Neil Patrick Harris is back as the resident shroom-consuming badass he was in the first film.

The New Yorker cover issue is horribly silly, luckily we have a fake news show to tell all the real news shows how they should be dealing with it, as always, The Daily Show puts the cable new in their place.

Rumors are flying that Madonna has brainwashed A-Rod with Kabbalah. More than just a mediocre mid-season excuse? Perhaps he’s wisely hedging his bets for lackluster post-season performance.  He’s fascinated by his superstardom now? Go Mets.

In an attempt to get better employees after a bunch of media frenzy and firings from neglect, NYC Children’s Services has just spent nearly a million bucks to put silly ads up in NYC subways… who do they think they are Dr. Zizmor?

The ads challenge potential applicants to consider whether they have the key attributes necessary to doing the job well, asking: “Are You Smart Enough…Are You Brave Enough…Are You Strong Enough… to be a Child Protection Specialist? The $900,000 campaign comprises advertisements in 500 subway cars starting today, and will also include online advertising on job search websites and some print advertising, in venues to be determined. See the article

We here at Metadish have discovered the rejected subway ads, I think some of these could have worked a little better.
